Can you elaborate on the activity under the driftwood? Are you attaching it to the bottom? Is it for an under gravel jet? Or maybe something totally different? I'm really interested!

The piece by the way is insane.

The 480g is 1" acrylic. It was formerly a reef tank with a closed loop filter system. I was able to salvage all of the bulkheads, plug the ones I didn't need and use 4 of the 1" holes for 2 FX-5 filters. Also, I went with a slate bottom since I keep rays. Let me say that Harbor Freight Tools is awesome! I bought their carbide hole saw kit and was able to drill through tiles with no problem. The tile fit nice and snug around the bulkheads. Also, their other hole saw kit was great for drilling out the plywood under the tank and cutting holes for the new overflows and returns.

The tank underneath is a 100g uniquarium that I am converting into a wet/dry filter with uv. It will be run by a Reeflo Dart pump. It also will accomodate 4 300w ebo jaeger heaters...yes they fit! More on the filter section to come as the acrylic is still drying.

If you are referring to the black pieces by the driftwood, that is a strainer and return for an fx-5 that will be hard-plumbed into the tank. There is a flow accelerator on the return. They work great and move more water within the tank.

Thanks! It saddened me to have to trim off about 10" of the bottom of the stump. I will post a few pics of the cuts later--they are on my 480g brainstorm thread. Basically, the piece stood 5ft tall before I took a chainsaw to it.:nilly:
