anybody know of a 400+ gallon tank near you? 500 would be perfect... used even better.... if u happen to have seen one in the local newspaper or craiglist.... got a friend looking to get rid of theirs please pm me. im located in az but am open to freight shipping. please let me know

Have you looked around on all the forums for one first? I have seen several large tanks on this and other forums.

yeah i have looked on forums, this and other and craigslist and ebay etc... and by the time i get to one its been sold. and i did research diy yourself glass, acrylic, plywood tanks and ponds but nobody on the forum was willing to help. a bunch of people even told me not to try it and its to hard, just to go buy one so here i am. just figured you never know who knows who and what they might know. =)

I don't think anyone told you "Don't do it" I think it was mearly a case of someone wanting to build rocketships before they know how to build paper airplanes.

If you have your heart set on it build some samll ones. IF they don't leak build a big one. I simply stated after you consider the cost of materials it's not worth the headache to build an ALL acrylic tank, as the dimensions you want really should have 3/4 acrylic which is very expensive.

You need to be patient to find a big tank. Took me 2 1/2 years to find mine. If you don't have the patience build a plywood one, there are plenty of writeups on how to do it.

OR just keep an eye out in Cali. Once you find one it's as simple as paying for it and going and getting it. There are plenty out there for sale, just got to find them. Maybe put the word out to the Cali folk. Tell them you're looking for a tank and you're willing to go get it. Maybe start checking C.L. adds in Cali. I KNOW there's a 450 out there RIGHT NOW listed for sale on the other forum.

It's like meeting the girl you're gonna marry..... Be patient and have faith.... You'll find the tank that was meant to be in due time. Maybe look into a smaller "get me by" in the meantime if timeline is an issue. Hope this helps.

Maybe give a pricerange you're looking to spend.....
