Is it possible to have them in a pond together (long term I mean) or will the Goldfish eat all the Koi eggs and fry and eliminate them over time?

Goldfish and Koi has co-existed in many ponds for long time. Sometimes the goldfish will hybridizing with koi but that is rare. Generally koi and goldfish will eating all fish eggs (including their own eggs) they can find. BTW both goldfish and koi are long lived fish.

They'll be fine. And they will definitely eat each others' eggs and fry, even their own.

You can keep koi and goldfish in the same pond. However, if you plan on breeding the fish, you shouldn't mix the two together. They will produce hybrids.

Again that is rare to produce hybrids in same pond if the adults are left in the pond.

The only problems really are if you mix fancy goldfish and koi, because the koi can outcompete the slower fancy goldfish for food. Even this is ok if you make sure to get food to the goldfish though.

Koi and comets frequently produce hybrids when kept together. With flock spawning, you never know what you are going to get.
If they are that common, why don't we see these hybrids for sale? (I'm awared that hybrids has offered for sale but good luck finding them!). As I said before it's rare to get a hybrid out of them if the adults are not removing from the ponds. Serious breeders only selected the high quality koi and let them spawn in their own pond then remove them from the pond to prevent the adults eating the eggs.
