Koi Angelfish

Want to try to breed the Koi Angelfish, how many and what size tank should i start out with

Pair them off according to your tank size, add some viagara and go! Those are awesome looking fish, good luck.

Thanks, basically starting off fresh, looking at buying about 8 juv's and growing out in a 55 gallon

That's a great idea, they would have plenty of room to grow in there. Any tank mate ideas?

We have six angels, a discus, three cory cats, a red tailed shark, a golden algea eater, a dragon goby and three neon tetras. They aren't full grown yet but everybody is well fed and happy. It is a really good community tank.

I would like to match up a couple of pairs for breeding than decide on the community tank groupings.

55 gallons should be more than plenty for 8 juvies. They should be able to grow to breeding size in that tank. I used to be able to pick males and females without needing to have them pair off on their own, but without experience, you would probably need to have them pair on their own. You will need to put a couple of structures in the tank for them to try to lay eggs on and some more to have the rest of the fish hide because the pair(s) will get a bit aggressive.
