Just curious who else has raised koi in their aquarium?? They are def monsters but I havent seen too many on here yet. :nilly:

They're more for ponds, not tanks unfortunately. You won't hear much from most folks about koi being kept in tanks except if they're "wintering" them.

I used to raise them in the tank,
sometimes ago the kois in my big pond started to breed, and so there were lots of baby kois in the pond. Those baby kois used to get sucked into the filter, so I remove them from the pond and move them into a separate tank. But you'll need mad filtration because they eat alot and produce lots of waste. As soon as they reach a certain size, I put them back in the pond.

I also have a white Koi, he's up to 9 inches. I want to get him out of the tank as he keeps it messy.

i have a 3'' platinum Koi in a 60 litre tub till this cold snap changes!!! I have heard the weight of the water that comes from a large koi flipping out can bust the side of your tank.

My last white ogon around 10 inches lept from my tank to his demise, it was a very sad day. I havent had one bust a tank yet their nose tends to be farely soft unlike thats of a pacu, but hey it could happen. Well Im glad to see a few people are raising them in tanks they are a magnificent fish.
