Hello just like my title says i see that two of my koi are laying eggs in my 3000 outdoor pond. they seem to be hiding some of the eggs around by the water fall. What should i do i would like to get some fry out of this batch of eggs. I have about 12 koi and one pleco and one crayfish in the pond.

I would wait till the eggs (2 days later from hatching net them out in a fine mesh net) hatch then set up a 4foot - 5foot tank for them with good filtration in the just make sure they cannot get sucked up the filter.

then grow them up to 2-3 inch and keep some and sell the rest.
Dave.

The best thing is to use breeding mops so the eggs can be collected soon after they are laid. If they spawned a few days ago, chances are the Koi ate them. A few might make it, but not likely. Just be prepared next year when you see spawning activity...

i managed to get a few of the eggs and but them in a breeder net inside my aquarium today i went to look at the eggs and i was able to see there little black eyes

well i can tell you that my females were alot fatter filled with eggs. and it seemed that the females had plain solid color fins pretty much white while the males had colors on the fins
