Koi fish??

Well I just took my bf for a walk around by the lake in my community to prove to him it was worth fishing. We saw tons of cool fish small to 3ish ft. The coolest thing I saw in there though was a 2isft Koi fish digging in the mud for food We are going to fish it Thursday so I will try to post up some pictures if we catch anything. My goal is the Koi fish though =]

Anyone happen to know how you would catch a koi fish?

make it sink and put it right in from of him, you'll want something smelly so try soft scented catfish bait.. keeping it on the bottom will be best..

I would imagine you would use a set-up similar to what you would use for carp..
Corn, bread, cheese.
Just get some sweet corn and bread dough, ball it up and put it on your hook.

I know some people who have done simillar by going and feeding the fish the same food, in the same spot, until the fish is conditioned. Then put that same bait on a hook , or better yet, use a net. Peas, cheese and/or popcorn have been known to work.

if its socialized at all like my koi, it will come to you if you sprinkly some koi pellets on the water surface. once it gets close, use a big net and scoop it up from behind. that how i got my 13" koi

I will have to give some of that a try. Alot of people already throw bread, hotdogs and cheesee at that spot so I prob. just bring some of that and catfish bait along. I'll make sure to post up if I catch it or not =]

i used bread balls
many kinds of fish in there
only thing i caught was my biggest koi
so ya bread balls
