I want to make a koi pond in my yard. My house isn’t in a residential area so there is no front or back yard. It’s all just grass surrounding the house. I can’t dig a pond in the front near an outdoor outlet because there are underground cables. I want to make it in the back but I don’t know how I would safely get power there. Would I put an extension cord inside tubing underground?
needs to be armoured cable. Very long runs of cable can affect the power you get. If you are not sure what you are doing water and electric can be a fatal mix.
In the past I've worked in the electrical field. As long as you use a cord in good condition, and at least 12 guage,"by law required to be printed on cord and package", you could get away with it as long as the distance wasn't too great, or the draw too large. I would insist it be buried in pipe. If you would like more specific professional DIY options. I could talk you through the job forgot to mention connections obviously need to be made 1000%water proof
my small pond takes 160 watts of power my new pond will need more than double how can you get this from solar or wind ? Also night time solar wont do much
