Koi Tank Mates?

Just wondering about some tank mates for Koi Idea is a roughly 15'x15'x4-6' pond (heated if needed) at some point with koi.

What can you keep with Koi besides goldfish?. I was thinking Larger cats like a TSN/Tigrinus/Channel cat etc. How bout an Rtc? I have a feeling a full grown RTC would be able to "nom" a full grown Koi. Would rays work with Koi too? and what about with butterfly Koi?

Also any suggestions about what can be kept with Koi/Butterfly Koi other than whats list would be awesome.
 
A channel would work well with koi without worrying about heating the pond. The store where I work has a koi pond with a big albino channel. I'm currently growing out a couple sterlet sturgeon that I hope to keep in a koi pond type setup someday. With sterlet however, you would need to make sure they were getting enough food (hand feed if needed) because they don't feed as aggressively or effectively as koi. Basically, they really suck at finding food quickly
 
Didn't realize how many cool fish there were that don't need a heater. That loach is pretty cool specially getting to 3ft =O. and that sturgeon is awesome but I'm not sure about having to hand feed it everyday that could get tiresome.
 
The Golden Orf are fantastic tankmates for Koi. I have never had issues. I also keep female Betta, Cloned Marble Crayfish, Blue Paradise Fish & dwarf Gouramis in the tank. The only issue is with the Crays picking off a Betta on an occasion!
 
Little fish are out of the question. I want a couple cats and they'll just get nommed however the golden orf might work.
