is it feasible to use a koi vat ( 7ft diameter x 24"dp ) to keep rays . Have seen pictures of rays being kept in children plastic pools . will it poke thru ? thks a million

hi, i use the rigid koi vats and the show vats and have never had a problem with it. The size you are talking about would be good size, what will go in it?

thk you for the quick response . how long have you been keeping them in those vats ? hoping to get the bggest show vat that i can lay my hands on . presently keeping 8pcs in a 5-1/2 X 3-1/2 ft x 2ft dp fgt with eheim 2260 & 5ft ohf . the 8pcs are ranging from 4" to 6" consists of 4 motoros & 4 sp rays all captive bred.

hi, been several years now i import rays so they fairly stocked, the rigid ones are drilled and connected with poly pipe into a empty vat then into large pond filters. At the mo only have 6 x 7-8" rays in there with 15 p/bass and 5 dats total volume is about 1800litres the show vats are actually being used for koi as we had to drain a pond (small lake) but they work well just watch the drain pipes as the material around can leak a little.

gee thks alot . will 2 eheim 2260 external filter works for the filtration cos I do not intend to drill & connect poly pipes .

hi, yes would think so they rated for somethin like 400g just watch the water as the rays get bigger and the feeding load gets heavier you can also get pond filter boxes and run that from the outlet of a canister to bump up the media load if it needs more filtration.
