well i know thay are more like gentle giants then monsters but i have a little question i just picked up a new one about a month ago thought it was really strange but pretty. is it normal for them to have no scales this one is a platinum blue in color with a line of scales down its back and like 3 scales on each side of its tail other then that it is completely scale less. is this normole i have only seen 3 others like this and thay were a 1/4 of the size. mine is almost 17"

im sarry but i cant get a clear pic of it because he wont stop moveing lol and when he does it is in one of the caves in the pond. i do have a blurry one

Looks like a shusui with the orange missing. Pretty common.

i have 4 others in this pond and some random gold fish from one of the ponds i take care of i just realy like him for the color and found it even cooler because of there being no scales lol thanks for any input :). right know he is the largest the rest are about 6-7" thay grow realy slow but are so cool to watch swim and almost never stop moving very relaxing to watch and truthfully i think thay are best viewed for a pond. i would like one other kind but you cant get kio by me by the type lol you just pick from a tube. i want what i beleave to be called a dragon koi all black with a white head

dragon koi= kumonryu

Kumonryu patterns are known to change a lot as it grows, so you might end up with a totally different looking koi at the end.

yup i was reading about them and thay say the color will also change depending on the time of the year as well. lol i find it cool i have seen fish change color depending on mood and stress but time of year is a new one to me :)
