I have both and I still cannot tell the difference. The only way I could tell is one is more greener than other.

Head shape is also very different from other larpadei as will as the racing stripes which is more ticker and looks like it's mottled compare to other known lap which have solid clean stripes.

Not really a more green coloration as the color can vary from golden to olive to more green. And yes it's the head shape and patterns that differs them from Nigerian lap and Guinea lap. The only bichir with similarities with the sp. "koliba" is the sp. "koloton". Both bichirs do look very similar.
