ok i just picked up 2 kribnesis:headbang2:headbang2 for my 20g that has 2 convicts(male and female), baby senegal, emerald cory catfish, feeders for stargazer:headbang2... so i put a glass jar in there that the male krib seems to like but the female of both species is avoiding the male they chase her but thats it and the male krib has a glass jar in the front right corner and the male convict has a cave thing in the back left corner and the female convict hides in the back right corner and the krib hides in a really big plant in the center in the tank. wil they end up breeding or just keep running away from the males and would i have to move the cons or would they be ok cause the kribs are half their size but they are mean lil snots. and im feeding them tropical flakes with frozen beef heart and mysis shrimp the kribs have great color and the female is fat so she might have eggs, yes or no? so are they in the process of breeding and would i have to move the cons but if i moved them the might be ate. so if they wouldnt have to that would be better.. maybe a divider if needed?

The chances of kribs surviving with convicts in a 20g tank would be slim. A divider just means you have convicts in a 10g which is not big enough.

So put them in the 120g with 4-14" fish that wouldnt be good and i heard they can do good in a 10g...

Kribs won't mate if they are being chased a lot. Also Kribs will get that crap kicked out of them by pretty much any other cichlad.

My Kribs get their own tank with 3 zebra danios to keep them from getting super shy. Each of my pairs lays eggs about every 3-4 weeks so far. Expecting the 3rd batch in the next day or so.

Well I feel like a broken record but the right thing was to not get the fish. At this point a 10g tank for the kribensis would be a much better idea than leaving with the convicts. Leave them in the 20g with convicts and they will get killed eventually probably sooner than later.

ok the kribs arent getting chased the cons are nice just really territorial for cons and the kirbs are freaking mean they were biting fins of the senegal and goldfish so the cons and kribs barely notice each other.. and each cichlid species has there own cave theyve "captured" and the female is like chasing the male
