I recently moved my Kribs into a 29 gallon with a couple of Rams... the kribs have taken up a spot under the plant in my tank and have been protecting it for a few days now. The male has pretty much lost all of his color while the female has became very colorful. I am guessing they are getting ready to bread, but why has the male lost nearly all of his coloration.

the female isn't attacking the male?

Not at all, they are both hangin out under the plant, and anytime they are swimming around they are side by side

interesting. I'd have figured the male would be extra-vibrant, not dull, during mating.

I would think the same... but so far he is a big dull piece of crap! The female on the other hand looks stunning!

I think I can see eggs under that plant... but its a terrible angle and I dont want to disturb them if they really are there... updates to come :)

haha... I carefully moved some gravel around to see down into the hole and there are definately eggs there!

cool maybe he will perk up when they hatch..

He is just starting to get a little color around his stomach again... He has been pale for probably 5 days now... weird little buggers! :screwy:
