Krobia Xingu
Eventually got the better of my group of Krobia after trying to get them into breeding condition. The group when bought were not in good condition
It has taken me 5 to 6 weeks from the first good signs to get them into condition, showing breeding behaviour
Luckily, I have ended up having 3 pairs spawning together in the same tank in two consectutive days!
As you will no doubt know tension will rise but I filled the two sides up with cobbles and grogg to give loads of savety for the fry.
Had to be a minimum of 200 eggs on each of the 2 stations I could see clearly
the other being hidden around the back of some bog wood
Here are a couple photos

I decided to remove two of the rocks I could easily retrieve leaving the more difficult one to nature. Amazingly I ended up with an additional 42 brought up by the parents
i have been very lucky to have ended up with over 300 fry which are now around 1" and growing fast on my own frozen food mixture.

Nice work, got a full tank shot?

Congrats I love Krobia Xinguenses. I've had many spawns myself. I found them to be excelent parents and all around great and beautiful fish to own.

Here's a few pic of mine. Top is Female and Male the two lower is some young fish from them. I found them pretty easy to spawn but they take a while to mature. These two didn't start breeding until they were about a year and a half to two years old. It is worth the wait, they are still pretty rare in the hobby.

Thanks for your comments.
nice photos Aquenaro.
they are fairly thin on the ground over here also, I intend growing my juveniles on for a while, say 6 - 12 months before moving them on.
as you all say they are really not as prominent in the hobby as they deserve to be.

Sorry no full tank shot, the group has been split up into 2 separate tanks to ensure that ,if I had a mishap! Then I would still have a pair.
the tank set up is still the same but has different fish in it now.
it consists lots of bog wood creating caves etc. plants were Anubias & java ffern off you would like a photo I will take one?
