has anyone used these??
they are small like popcorn shrimp
raw, cooked and frozen, the only ingredients listed are:
shrimp, salt, sodium tripolyphosphate

i am hoping that they are ok to feed to my fish???
i got them pretty cheap, so if so, i will buy a ton more:headbang2
if not i guess i am out $3  lol

a lot of people are going to tell you no because of the last 2 ingredients. In reality, the salt is added in such minutia and that it's irrelavent. Sodium tripolyphostphate, not clue. I don't think it will harm as when it breaks down it's by products will be sodium (more salt) and phosphates (removed through water changes), just depends on what percentage is added. You could always try it, or call and ask how much is added.

DO NOT USE IT!

I wouldn't use them.. Also make sure the shrimp you buy are raw.

Hmmm, I buy frozen shrimp for my fish all the time (raw, deveined, peeled) I haven't got the salad shrimp, I get the jumbo...but I've never had a problem in any way? I get the scallops, shrimp, cod, and smelt frozen from my stores all the time.

Not all frozen, prepared seafood will contain sodium tripolyphosphate. It's a preservative. It is something you may want to watch for.

My Dats will only eat cooked shrimp. The stuff I buy at Safeway indicates only "sodium chloride" is present. I would recommend purchasing a brand of shrimp without the tripolyphosphate.....which should be readily available. Then, cut the shrimpy up in advance and allow to soak overnight in water, in the refrigerator. This should remove virtually all of the residual salt. If you really prefer the Kroger salad shrimp, then soak overnight. My guess is it will be just fine. Finally, with regard to "raw" shrimp....I think you will find that even these have been soaked in brine in preparation for freezing.

crap, i never looked for the poly crap. thx for bringing this up

This is not a risk I would take. Just my .02.
