Sorry MFK, But I broke my camera, So I was hoping maybe one of you experts could ID from a quick sketch. All the main attributes are there. The green lines are his sheen when the light hits it.

My crayfish recently tried to molt, but something strange happened where his backplate cracked and it killed him. So I was after something to occupy his old cave. I wanted a pleco, But my 2 LFS's only had ugly Synodontis and commons.
What inspired my to pick this little guy up was this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=capS3UsfWkY
Hes my first pike and Ive only had him from a few hours now, But seeing how he chowed on those bloodworms, I already love the little guy.

I have no patience in regards to iding fish, He is only about an inch long. I just cant find a picture that matches what he looks like. You guys have any ideas? If not, No worries. Ill will have a new camera here before long and he probably needs to grow more for an accurate ID anyways. Just thought I would try. Thanks

What a cool little fish. Not shy of fish 20x his size.
Less than 24 in my tank he already ate a bloodworm off my finger and begs for more whenever I approach the tank. Love the personality, Even though he is the a little thicker than a tooth pick.

I was thinking Crenicichla anthurus or Crenicichla lepidota. Anybody agree? or is my drawing to vague? or is he still too small? Like I said, Hes the size of a fat tooth pick.

Kudos and free bump for trying!!!!!

Haha appreciate the input guys. That drawing was done prior to me realizing how vast the Crenicichla spcie truly is and actually how difficult it is to identify them.
When refering to this picture, http://www.amazon-exotic-import.de/Gallerie/Cichliden/Seiten/Crenicichla anthurus.htm Thats exactly what I believe I have. Or Lepidota or Lucius, like Peanut mentioned. Im not planning on breed so its not a big concern. I will be enjoying this fish as he grows.
Got some pictures after feeding shrimp, so hes super fat. He only has the horizontal bar when he is angry. The last shot is of the whole happy community.
BTW, My drawing was wayyy off. haha. Click to enlarge.

Could be anthurus or lucius. How is the suborbital mark?

Hard to see being so young. All I can make out in that area is a pinkish cresent under the eye which is about 1mm, then under that is a faint brown spot on both sides. The entire gill plate has a green sheen.
I see nothing indicating any kind of spangling, so I am leaning towards anthurus. I have a feeling its going to grow like a weed, so I will repost in a couple months to share how he has grown.
