Im fixin to set up a 55g bottom dweller tank and im looking for some new candidates. Right now im going to move all my spot loaches (4), 3 yoyos and a burmese. Im also going to move my 6" peacock eel and a 3" madtom catfish in to. I want to get a few kuhli loaches. My biggest loach is 5" and i want to make sure he wont thing the kuhli is a big worm because ive seen him take off with some pretty big earthworms.

No, you cannot keep kuhlis with botiine loaches, toehead. Kuhlis just don't appreciate too feisty tankmates and will never come out of hiding. If you want these kuhlis, consider a 20g heavily planted tank.

I agree with Lupin. Those are too small to fend for themselves with botiine loaches.

you should just get more clown loaches. a large group of CL looks much better than small groups of different loaches.

i have 9 clowns but i dont know if there will be room for all of them in with the others. its only a 55

how big are they? if most of them are under 4-5" then they should be fine in the 55 for a while. you could also increase the yoyo loach numbers instead if you don't want more CLs.

..and the burmese border.:)

I was thinking of more yoyos but i like clowns more and if i tell myself only large or oddball clowns, i wont go nuts and buy up a million clowns. If i see more borders, i may get 2 more. last time i started going nuts on clowns, i bought 10 in a week and got overstocked very quickly. i have to set limits to my inner fish dork.
