I took the killi back to the store and got some kuhli loaches. Was kinda sad to see the killi go...Colored up really nicely plus was almost starting to eat from my hand.

I'm hoping this was a good fish choice and I'm excited to keep the loaches again since we had one in our shared tank a long time when I was a child.
I'm going to go get the "kuhli loach house" that ours used to live in, though with my thick plant growth maybe not needed.

My betta is also healing up nicely, though she's no longer building nests since being moved to my other planted tank.

I like Kuhli loaches, kept them with Discus. I only saw them once and while though.

Keep 5 as the minimum is my suggestion. They are bolder at that and will show up quite often.

I would also suggest 5 or more. Mine seemed to be happy in a huge group.

BTW, it would probably be a good idea to quarantine if you get anymore.

Awhile back I added a couple of kuhlis to my 20 long and had some kind of disease kill all but 2 of them. Didn't effect anything but the kuhlis, but they started dying one by one, starting with the ones I added and then finally most of the ones I already had. The 2 survivors never showed any signs of ill health and are still fine months later.

I'e heard of similar happening to several other people, and it only seems to effect the kuhlis, they start dying with no sign of sickness, good water quality, eating well, then just start dropping dead, always shortly after more kuhlis had been added.

They are being quarantined/ seperated from my betta.
I got six of them ( Because I would like to see if they might spawn for me later) and so far I'm seeing four of them sitting/laying? in a pile in the front corner. I was hoping that they'd be more confident in my heavily planted tank and it seems to have worked. It also means if they happen to die, I will not be able to find them.

I've gotten concerned about that they might get into my internal filter ( fluval1) which I did not consider before I got them.

The kuhlii is one of my favorites. The color is outstanding, and they are usually quite active. If you have fine substrate, they will burrow in it, making them hard to catch and hard to see.
