Might be an odd question, but how do you know you are getting an actual L-14? Anything to look for? Markings? Also how to tell male or female? What are the best diet for them?

I can't think of any other pleco that looks like a L-14
They might have similarities but not enough to throw you off of a correct ID of the fish.

First of all, good looking goldie. Second, just feed them lots and lots of meaty foods. I feed my L14s raw shrimp, cichlid gold, massivore, etc.
Thank you bro! I will post up my L25. So I am looking for L95 to complete my collection - In your opinion, L14, L25, is there any other Ls to collect?

For diet they need some meaty foods. I mostly feed mine veggies. I give them NLS pellets once a week. I like the mega fish tabs it's a great pellet. They eat veggies just as much as panaque do.
An all meat diet is not a good choice.
