I dont know if its dying or not. When I first got it he went into the castle and hardly ever came out. OOPS!!! Forgot to mention I got it from a guy and it was already 6 inches. So anyways earlier today I noticed in was out but instead of doing the normal sucking on any object it can it was just laying on the gravel. A few hours later it was sideways(not completely upside-down...but stange to see). So I gave it a nudge with the net and he took off. A few hours passed and I saw it on the back of the castle and it looked like it was sucking on the back. When I looked though, he was just kinda standing there not sucking at all. What should I do?

I say this a lot, but only because you have no idea how much it really helps - - and since he's being so still, it should be easy to get a good clear one, but take a picture! Also, how long has this been going on, what were his normal swim patterns like before, what are your parameters, what does he eat - and it is live, frozen, freeze dried, etc. What is he housed with, and so on. Just some basid info to start with. Thanks!

umm. plecos dont continuously suck on things... so... how long have you had it? is it feeding ok?

I've had him for a few weeks now and to be honest with you I really hadnt seen him eat. I do give him fresh cucumber. He is housed with a leopard frog pleco around the same size and a royal and gold nugget around 2 inches. The others in the tank are 5 peacock bass. Doing water change later...should have water perams then.

R.I.P.

Have you done the water change yet to get your readings? And about not eating, what else have you offered him besides cucumber? And if you never actually saw him eat, that would have been my first suspicion. Did you ever try to isolate him and offer him food? Have you checked specifically your nitrate and ammonia? How are the other fish doing? Was he Q'ed at all before added to your main tank? I know, a million questions right. And I just noticed the R.I.P - -don't tell me he's gone!!
