i was just wondering if they have ever been breed in captivitie i guess i havent done much research but i kinda think it would be cool to get a breeding program for them going but if its not possible i dont want to waste my time and money
Once or twice. B. demantoides has never been documented to spawn in captivity, but its hemiancistrine relative has been spawned a handful of times. The main factor, apparently, is having an appropriate sized tank for such large fish.
A large group would be helpful. The above thread doesn't really provide any pictures, but I guess if you want to be complete about it, it is a decent resource. For a better step by step rundown, there's a thread on the PC forums about breeding h. sub.
