I am looking to get a friend or 2 for my leiarius but I don't know what to get? I really like ATFs but I also like hand feeding my catfish and would like to keep my fingers intact l... I would like another predator cat but I have heard they don't like other cat fish most of the time? If neither of there are possible I would like suggestions for mid to top level fish that would work well, the tank is 6'x2.5'x2' and I plan on having a 6'x4'x3'+ in the near future

Where did you find one? I've always wanted one around 3". How about a school of silver dollars as tankmates?

I had big oscars with my big red tail catfish with no problems. They ignore each other and could live together. I would get oscars that are to big for your catfish can't eat.

My L. pictus do not pay attention to any other catfish unless they are also a Leiarius or aim to occupy the same spot, or, both - then it's a strong fighting. Catfish that do not need a reserved space could work, e.g. Pangasiidae. IME, others may work too, e.g., Cephalosilurus, Ictaluridae, etc. Almost all work in a large pond/tank.

As for non-cats, arowana and other bonytongues (knives), perch-likes and cichlids, pacu grow too big but a giant gourami could work.

Leiarius are markedly more scavengers not predators, so smaller piranhas than pacu should work - dollars, red hooks. If you are not confining the tank to SA, then great many cyprinids would work.

Ill definitely look into some of them cats and I was thinking aro but wouldn't a silver be cramped? And I would be worried about a jar or Asian becoming aggressive
