I just picked up this beauty over a week ago and I truly have to say that these plecos look more amazing in real life oppose to pictures. The goldy is roughly 3.5" or so and is extremely outgoing...He/She is out and about all the time and never gets startled when the lights come on or when people come near the tank. Definitely more active than an L333 that I own as well as other plecos I've owned in the past. Looking forward to seeing this one grow since I know they grow huge. Sorry the pics are a little dark.

thats a pretty baby plec. Good to have a plec that is brave. I got some monstrous L128/Blue Phantom...and that guy's a chicken....

Very nice! That is awsome that it is not shy, like most plecos I have owned.

Thanks everyone for the comments!

This is by far the easiest fish I've ever owned to take a picture of :D Never a shy moment...

Wow, gorgeous Plec you've got there. My new L075 and L114 are dubbed 'The Invisibles'. I have to hunt the tank every day to make sure they're alright and so I can drop the food right by them. You're lucky your guy is such a ham.

I'm really curious to know if other people's experiences with their L014 are similar cause like your "Invisibles", my L333 hides all the freaking time. I too have to hunt for him and drop food by him but sometimes I don't even know how he eats really :screwy:

Very nice :D

I got my L-14 sometime around May 1st of this year. It was MAYBE 2". Its the most active pleco I have. The first month or so I had it, it seemed fearless...very active, not afraid to scavenge all over for food, even hung out on the glass some. It wouldn't spook when I walked in front of the tank, or stalked it :D

Now its thickened up quite a bit and is about 3" I'd guess. Its still my most active pleco but I have noticed it will spook now. It'll still come out to steal some NLS pellets from the EBJDs when lights are on, but if I get up for a closer look and walk up to the tank it'll go back to its hiding spot. I don't ever see it on the glass anymore. Its definately less shy than my L-264 and L-114, and L-326 (but the 326 is my second most active pleco I'd guess).

I have several pics (including before/after shots of its growth rate) of it in my "My 4 plecos" thread in the pleco media lounge.

edit: My L-114 and L-264 are "invisibles", but fortunately I know exactly where they hide, and they seem to be creatures of habit. So to check on them I just have to look under a rock cave for the L-114, and under a piece of driftwood for the other L-264 (which seems to share this spot with the L-14 and L-326...I frequently see these 3 plecos in the same small area, so close they're almost touching each other).

BPags52, an L264 is one I'd really love to have. I'm trying to decide on where I'd put another Plec. I almost did get an L014 when I got my Para Plec, I still regret not getting one. You guys are making me want one again now. Volcomstone, an L014 just may be my next Plec instead of the Sultan......my Royals are by far my most active. My 6" L191 will park his fat butt right up front and center at exactly 10:00 PM & wait, he knows that's dinner time. I can lay the food right in front of his nose and he snatches it up and goes to chomping.
