Hi guys,

I am getting a L014 plec soon, and as I've never kept one of these before, I was wondering if you could all give me some advice? My tank is 400L juwel rio, it holds six small angelfish, 1 baby bronze cory, 2 clown loaches and two guppies. I have kept common plecs before, but that's all. Would appreciate any help because i'm getting im tomorrow! He is coming from wildwoods.

agree site is awesome for info

actually i think wildwoods made a mistake, when i went onto planet catfish it looked exactly like the L018 - the gold nugget plec? anyway, he arrived today and they had packed him really well, and he had no discolourations or anything like that, i put him in the tank and he's completely fine! swimming about after i put the lights out, i put some ice berg lettuce for him, but he ignored it so i sprinkled some pellets for him, hope he eats them, i didnt expect him to eat on the first day anyway.

sunshine and gold nuggets look very somilar IMO... but you can see a difference

well this one is very small, and his fins are lined with yellow and he has yellow spots all over, he is jet black as well. The other sunshine one on planet catfish looks like it has some orange red colour lining its fins, but maybe its because its reached an adult size?

the one my friend had did change color if i remember correctly as it grew...

hopefully mine will grow too, im not planning on putting anymore fish in until he has settled down properly, hopefully will put in some more angelfish in a month or so.i love angelfish, dont know why!

oh my god, i need you guys to tell me what this means: the day he came in he def had a sunken stomach, i could see it curve inwards. well now today i'm looking at his tummy and it looks flat! could it be because he ate an algae pellet i put in there for him? i mean he must have eaten something for his tummy to go from sunken in to being a flat tummy, right?

They change, but they don't change their color of fins. There are two types of L014, one that has yellow fins, and one that has tones of red-orange.
