I bought a 35 cm l095 pleco some days ago. I picked up some sunfish to. The fish seem to be in a perfect condition. But after a few days i noticed that the sunfish had ich. I used some meds and they seem fine now. But now they are shaking the heads loads. What in my opinion looks a awful lot like gill worms. My l095 seem to be getting wors day by day. Its coloration is getting lighter and it only stays on the bottom on one place for the whole day. When i go near him with my hand it does not swim away. Only when i push him a litle bit it raises his fins but thats all he does. Water checks out fine and the tempeture is about 77. It also does not take any foods.
Now my question can l095 witstand most medication? and can they be infected by parasites for what i have heard people say is that they almost never get parasites. When i check the sunfish for parasites they check out fine. I dont know how to do a microscope swap on the sunfish for gill worms but as they seem to check out fine for anny other parasites i think one of the only things they can have is worms. Is it whise to start medication for worms while the l095 looks to be in a poor condition? The l095 himself does not shake his head or annything els like that.
