My tank is 1200 Litres.
Plenty of wood, caves, planted with a silica sand substrate.

I have 75 clown loaches, black arowana, 4x pink tail chalceus.
filtation is not a problem, its monster!

my question is, i want to put a 6 to 8 CM L114 Leopard cactus pl*co.

I know they are meat eaters, currently i had a albino sailfin pleco in there , about 8 to 9 inches end to end.
when i do a feed, it comes out and eats. the albino sailfin will move out of the tank.

questions:
1) will the L114 be ok in there?
2) will it also learn to come out to feed and compete with the clown loaches??
3) i feed a mixture of NLS thera 1, hikari aro sticks adn discus beef herat/shrimp/fish mix. a paste that i feed clown loaches and discus, it is predominantly beef, shrimp and fish - pellets and veges blended into the beef mix

will the L114 come out to feed? what diet should i have for it?
pellets ok? beef mix ok? both?
should i put shrimp in there on a daily basis?

basically, i wanna make sure this fish actually gets food.
Also, this small L114, can i put a medium sized royal p anaque in there? 5 to 6 inch royal pleco? or more? can i put more pleco in there?

the L114 should be fine however i would advise against the royal because it seems as if your feeding is mostly meat and royals are wood/veggie eaters.

Hopefully Allan will respond, but according to him, as the L114s get larger, they get more bold and aggressive. Mine tend to hide, but the largest one is only 4-4.5 inches standard length.

Yeah, most pseudas get more aggressive with size. But honestly, it takes YEARS for them to get anywhere near the 10 inch mark. I'd imagine any pseuda (even if it is an L114) is quite pricey in NZ. I would keep an eye on the sailfin, just because of sheer size and power.

Wiith the loaches and the arowana, you've got a perfect tank for a carnivorous pleco. I'd pass on any panaque IMO and opt for a larger pseuda.

yeah, there is a l114 for sale for $173, i have ordered it in. thats NZD$173.
i think reasonable for its rarity lol besides, i have no choice, in this country you take what you can get!!

I have an L-114 that is 11 inches. I have it in with 3 black striped redhooks which he ignores. He will not tolerate any other bottum dwellers other than a 5 inch albino bn which was with him since the bn was 1 inch. I have had quite a few L-114 in the 3-4 inch mark. They will fight as they get older in my experiance. Your tank and inhabitants are fine but I would stay away from beef in any form not good for plecos. Many will not agree with me but my local fish shop is a pleco guru. Feed shrimp to your L-114 only sparingly. I almost lost my big guy about a year ago from feeding shrimp everyday. NLS is the only food I feed and have been feeding this way for over a year now without any issues. My L-114 doesn't hide anymore and will eat about 25 3 mm pellets a day. When he is done he will let the silver dollars eat. Do not put a Royal or any wood eater in there. All that meat in there will do your Royal in quickly. They will eat it hoggishly and end up with a type of bloat. Like I said I have had success with a small bn with my L-114. They can be docile or like mine terrors but will only fight with bottum dwellers. Small L-114 's will hide but as they grow and you see them in full color it is worth the wait. I have to get a camera so you could appeciate what an adult L-114 is. All your other fish clowns and discus are common but your L-114 is not and at adult size even less common but a damn cool pleco. Hope this helps.

thanbks!
that helps!!!
awesome, thanks for the feedback, excited now
im putting a total of 3 plecos in there, Royal i have had for 3 years nad grown from when i got it, the royal eats anything before. pellets mainly.
i only feed beef/fish/shrimp mix once maybe twice a week max.
rest is nls, hikari diet.

im also getting a baryancistrus niveatus l026. Tank is 1200 Litres, will be enough space.
those two, l114 and l026 will suit dient in there, royal pleco is eating wood constantly - it loves the wood in there, seems like its juicier than the previous tanks wood lol
