Doubled in 6 weeks? That’s almost too hard to believe. That’s incredible growth.

Are you feeding it live ghost shrimp?

Doubled in length. In terms of body weight, several times its previous weight.

I just now put half a kilo of ghost shrimp in the tank. The dats only eat live ghost shrimp, but the L14 (and the L24 I have just got) eat live and finish off the dead. I will see in a few weeks if the L24 gets big quick too.

Keep us updated on the L24’s growth as well. I may have to try feeding ghost shrimp as well

They certainly will eat live shrimp. I have a colony of 4 adults.

They live in a 8x3, that originally had a colony of shrimp in the sump to help keep detritus down, and as happens in these situations the shrimp eventually colonise the aquarium too. Definitely see my adults sucking them out from the crevices in the wood from time to time. I think that this constant source of live food is the reason my colony has also grown very fast and my biggest male is now pushing 12" +

Midwater - I wrote an article on L014 that was published in Tropical Fish Hobbyist Magazine Jan/Feb 2022 edition, that may be of interest to you. I have also had two spawns out of my group that I am currently writing a piece on that will likely also appear in TFH sometime in the future.

I have attached some images below. Of note - notice how well conditioned the fish are, I put this down to regular my feeding regime and the abundance of live food present in the tank (shrimp). Also, I have found that even my large males don't show the extreme angular head that some of the pictures available on the net show. The heads are angular in my males, just not as extreme. On the flip side, the odontode growth on the face and leading spine on the pectorals appears to be on the extreme side in my group compared to online images. Even my females are quite hairy.

Your fish still has its juvenile coloration - so plenty more growing left to do.
