I have him since about 2,5 months. Never acted like this, always ate his cucumbers and other veggies very well. Ate half a cucumber over a night, easily.

Now since about 2-3 weeks he has not taken anything, really not eaten at all. Not even really going for the wood.

He "shakes" like this
since like, about, almost 2 days now. Constantly. Did a 90% WC. Didnt really help.

Ammonia: 0 (tested it 3 times)
Nitrit: 0 (tested it 3 times)
Nitrat: ~5 - I have almost 0 (about ~2) out of my tap
Temp.: 29.5-30°C
PH: ~7.8 (comes out of the tap like this - I have a drip system installed since over a year, changing about 200% weekly)

The tank is 400g (1500+L). Just about half an inch of sand, a piece of drift wood and pothos roots growing into the water.

Have you try moving a net towards it and see if it alerts and dart off. See if he weak, I had many royals only time I see them shake like this is when they are eating.

He's pretty weak, doesn't move a lot even when I'm coming towards him with a net. He can still move but he seems to be pretty weak and has 0 interest in eating even when there is cucumber right in front of his mouth.

Sorry man it doesn't look good.

Ya that doesn't look good. Sometimes they come in from the exporters in really bad shape.

When buying a royal you have to make sure that their stomach is not sunken in. Once the stomach area is too far sunken in the royal will not recover.

What other plecos do you have in your tank? Unfortunately, sometimes fish exporters will apply parasite meds to "de-worm" fish, and it kills the good bacteria needed in royal plecos. One way to "re-start" the good bacteria in pleco guts is to expose them to other bacteria via plecos poop, like bristlenose/ancistrus poop.

I have 2 5¨ wild L273 and 2 5.5¨ L137 Cochliodon soniae plecos in the same tank. Sadly, the L190 Panaque didnt eat anything. I had several cucumbers and stuff like that right next to his mouth, he didnt move nor did he eat anything, not even over night. He was just "shaking" 24 hours, every day. I thought It'd be better to end it fast and easy, so I ended him with meds :(
