L191 Panaque wit ray

Just checking here will it be safe for me to add in L191 to my ray comm tank as I have only 1 tank in my house... I have been longing to get this piece which is at size about 6-7 inch

I think you shouldn´t have plecos with rays because they suck the rays slime coat

Yes it is true, Plecos usually suck the slime coat off of slow moving fish, making it very deadly to Stingrays, because your Stingray will be more vulnerable of catching diseases !

Normally that's true but I know there are plenty of people who have royals coexisting with rays.

Thats not the only reason, I have seen cases where Stingrays kill Plecos, and believe me its not pretty. Stingrays are usually quite peaceful with other larger fish but can get in fights with smaller fish that it thinks is food

Go for it you only live once! you can always take it out if problems occur. then you can tell us if its a good idea or not. i have always kept all kinds of plecos with my rays over the years and have never had a problem.

hmmm let me rethink about adding it.. but currently i have 1 pelco in the tank.. just normal black pelco...

Thats the problem, most Common Plecos are the cause for this! Not all Plecos will suck slime coat or fight, only some of the species do it.
