I have recently acquired a L200 and am interested in what its diet consists of.
Only recently registering with this site i have read the sticky about plecos needing a diet.
Something i always thought of but never knew of. One friend of mine has a chinese pleco and i bought a common pleco(unsure of real name) but we both bought ours around the same time. His is id say about 10 or so inches as mine is a mire six. Knowing that they are both different plecos that might be the reason why he is small.
I've always noticed my common pleco just sitting at the bottom of my tank really doing nothing other than sitting.
Yesterday i put in a halved cucumber and he noticeably ate quite a large amount of it.
Anyways back to the L200.
he is a very skiddish fish in a very bare tank. WHen i move up to the glass it is almost like he is is hiding his head from me which i have read is normal.
ok now back to it.
I put one peice of cucumber into my 90 gallon with the common and he devoured most of it.
I also put another peice of it into my 55 gallon with the L200 and another very small beatin up pleco that my jardini has been munchin on:grinno:.
THe cucumber in the 55 was no where near what the 90 gallon.
which leads me to the conclusion that i might need another food source for him :grinyes:
WHat do u fellow L200 owners feed yours?
Cheers Jordan

I'd try a wide range of veggies, and also some meaty foods liked shrimp and bloodworms. Find out what his favorite is and use that as a staple food, and offer variety of foods to keep him happy

i have a blue phantom and he loves red peppers, green peppers and zucchinni,my brislenose and blue phantom fight over the red pepper(lol)

thanks for the info. If i could leave meat food at the bottom of the tank without my jardini noticing it i would, sounds like i will try a green pepper.
