so i found a new pet store that has the biggest and i mean BIGGEST assortment of cichlids i have ever seen. he also has blue and green phantoms and many other unique and interesting fish. he travels to south america every year and has caught almost half of his fish that he has in his store. this guy is legit. i was wondering is $20.00 a good deal for a 2 in L200 A? also any info you have about them would be entertained. i know alot of you have them so tell me some stuff about them :)

quick question: does L200a mean its either a hi-fin or a regular, like L200a is a hi-fin and L200b is a regular or vice versa?

Thats decent for a petstore I guess but I paid my 5 inches for 25 and I paid two 3" for 35. Again depends on your location. I got it from local hobbyist that sell stuff, not store so I guess he doesn't need to make as much profit.
L200's are great plecos, make sure they have enough hidding spot, as they get comfy to the tank they come out more, I use zucchini, they use to come out when light is out but now they come out even light is on, or even when im watching right infront of the tank..

Grab yourself 2 or 3, you will enjoy them!

If it is a hi fin they will say hi finned L200. I think that is how it goes. No "A" or "B"

L200a is sometimes used for the high fin and L200 the 'regular' one. I've not seen the 'b' prefix used for either.

But numbers aren't necessary now since they both are scientifically described as Baryancistrus demantiodes and Hemiancistrus subviridis respectively.

i bought one and i am in love with him,or her, lol. he is an l200a or hifin whichever you prefer. it is pretty comfy and swims around all day im just having trouble keeping the sand clean of his poop. its too heavy for my filters even though i have a spraybar pointed directly at it. any ideas? anyways he is very active and now i am waiting for a blue phantom to come in to the local shop.

So one of these is the high fin correct?
