so i found a new pet store that has the biggest and i mean BIGGEST assortment of cichlids i have ever seen. he also has blue and green phantoms and many other unique and interesting fish. he travels to south america every year and has caught almost half of his fish that he has in his store. this guy is legit. i was wondering is $20.00 a good deal for a 2 in L200 A? also any info you have about them would be entertained. i know alot of you have them so tell me some stuff about them

there is no such thing as a L200A. There are however 2 different species of pleco labeled as L200. Hemiancistrus subvirdis and baryancistrus demantoides.

i apologize. its the green phantom that has higher fins sort of like a sailfin pleco. thats just what the guy had it labeled as so i was going off of that. is that a fair price for it though?

$20 is a great price for an L200 of any size. Typical middle-men wholesalers charge the stores $20-30 each, making the store sell them for at least $36. I would also snag a blue phantom. They are not exactly rare, but are much lesson commonly encountered in the trade.

ha funny story about that. i was going to and the guy had some but his son put them at home in his tank so no more of those lol. he has the biggest assortment of plecos ive ever seen! some undescribed species too that he caught out of a river in south america. he has zebras and the black with white spots and a ton more. the only one i didnt see thats fairly common on here is the vampire and the gold nugget or the one with the yellow spots. im pretty positive he caught the l200s wild also or they are f1's. he has a royal in there thats about the size of a softball and he said its won many shows. its beautiful in a show tank up front, not for sale of course.

bump.. im gettin it today.

wow, lucky you to be able to shop at this guy's store! I yet haven't seen any LFS that had a decent selections of different kinds of plecos.

So having just moved down to NC...where's this store? oh yeah and leave some for me...
Rav
