L24’s with Cichla

Hello everyone.

I currently have six Cichla Kelberi and intermedia that are about 16-18” long. I wanted to know if they could swallow and try to eat a 8” L24 pleco. Given how spiny and rough they are, I’m wondering if they’ll be safe. I know”regular” plecos would be lunch but given how spiny Pseudacanthicus are...especially L24’s, I’m hoping I’m safe.

Please advise if you have any experience. Thank you.

Thank you. I didn’t build the tank but got it used and rehabbed it and set up the plumbing and stuff with help from this forum. Especially JK47 He helped me a ton.
