L25 Scarlet Pleco Variant?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't know whether there are specific variants but there some common names used to describe different looking L025. Names like 'Sao Felix', double red, super red, tomato, but these are more likely just to be sale names. Do you want a L025, or a L025 super red 'Sao Felix'?

Thanks for the information, guess it does sound catchy when you put it that way but I came across a thread which the guy posted up L25 but it seem to me that it looked lighter than usual therefore it made me question it. I recently pick up a juvenile 7 pointer and the body is semi developing lighter in color so it got me curious.

Here is a picture of the two L25, wouldnt you say it differ?

Honestly? No. They look the same to me except the one on the left is closer to the flash and therefore his base color is washed out a little bit more. They look the same to me. It's all about perspective & lighting and that's why people have such a hard time photographing fish as they can look different from angle to angle amongst other things.

This is most likely and frustrates the crap out of me. I get SO sick of breeders/sellers watering down the genes through crappy breeding and then producing muttled looking cichlids and calling them boisterous names to try to get a sale. I see sellers selling 'Super Red Empress' that look less bright, colorful and healthy than just regular Red Empress from when I was a kid many years ago. I wish more people breed their best fish together to help strengthen the strains of fish that we have. Guess there's no money in that.
