cichlid city
hey kinda new to plecos besides common plecos..Was interested in the care of scarlet l25 plecos...Ive read they are agressive...In a 125 gallon is it possible to co exist with cichlids like a red devil?

that depends more on your red devil than the L25. L25 are typically only aggressive with other plecos. Sometimes, they will suck the slime off of the sides of widebody fish like rays and arowanas. If your RD is mellow, you should have no problem adding an L25 to the tank.

They are only aggressive when hungry or don't have a spot to call their own. They can be aggressive to others when spawning. If a pseuda is actually eating the slime off a fish then feed it more and not algae foods! Lack of food makes anyone grumpy. Usually the cactus pleco will back down first.

Jim any luck spawning the l25?

Not since March. Lost the fry to equipment and brain issues. I thought I took good notes before, during, and after the spawn but the second time has not happened. The same pair are close I think. The female stays just outside the cave but the male keeps her out.
