Hey guys my brother just sent me a picture and he bought one of these guys for his tank. He has done his homework no worries I am just curious to see what you guys have to say about these plecos. And if maybe anyone has personal experiences/pictures. Thanks

Chad

I've had one since last summer. My favorite fish in the tank; may be getting some more as they are supposedly more social than other plecos. It loves hikari wafers, and enjoys zuchinni (especially with shrimp pellets embedded in it).

There seems to be 2 school of thought on feeding leporachanthicus. They are carnivorous plecos, so some people recommend lots of shrimp. I follow the "make sure they eat their veggies too" school. I've read on posts on planet catfish that some people think that too much meaty foods my lead to bloat (others disagree):

I like hikari wafers as they are high both in protein, vegetable matter and fiber. There are also snails in the tank for sultan to snack on.

Yea we have been going back and forth about that I keep telling him to make sure it gets some vege's too. Are they supposed to be social with all plecos or jsut thier own kind?

They're supposedly more social with their own kind.

Mine gets along with the L204s (flash) plecos and L007 (galaxy) that I have in the tank, but then again, it's the biggest fish in the tank, so it's the alpha-dog. It seems a bit skittish though, even if it's the largest fish. I'll drop a hikari wafer, it'll come and eat it, but then if I move suddenly, it'll go hide. The smaller plecos aren't as skittish.
