In the fish room
So I am getting three L46 pleco's this week they are about 1.25 inch. they will be going into a standard 29 gallon tank by them selves. There is no gravel or sand in the tank, it did have some breeding discus in it thats why theres no sand. I have some dift wood and some broken flower pots in it along with some breeding caves and slate rock. The filters are a 55 gallon over the back canister and a 50 gallon sponge filter. The Ph is 7.0 and all other test check out. I am a stingray and other large predator fish keeper. So This is a new adventure for me. I have kept other plecos in the past so i'm not 100% new to them. But i do not want to make a mistake with them. the were raised in tap water and are F1's. I'm not 100% sure on what I'm feeding them yet so if anyone could help me please help.

thank you for the help

if they are from the same parent then you can't breed them. They so smart, only breed with different patch but not there own. Where did you get it?

hey put something on the bottom though cuz the barebottom does reflect alot more light into the fish and the zebras do not like light that much ;)

Mine does come out at nights under moon lights and feed on bloodworms- they're P I G S on frozen bloodworms which I really rinse really GOOD under tap water due to the fact I dont want to pollute my water more than necessary. Ask the breeder what he has been feeding them and then do the same and just make adjustments as time goes by to adapt to your preferences

dont need to add unnecessary stress to the fish as they're beautiful specimens and congratulations!

thanks everyone. Will the F1's really not breed with each other? If so I guess I will be spending some money big money. I won them off of aquabid heres a picture. Also i will be getting 4 not 3 now!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if they are that smart. I've myself never breed zebras before but I do have a few at 2.5-3inch. I'm sure you can breed siblings together. My buddy had a group of 5 from the same parents and they breed fine. Wow not bad your the guy who won that auction. I never see my zebras eat I usually just throw in a lot of light and feed them bloodworm every other day and 1 year later they are still running and growing so they must be eating the blood worms. Good luck with your zebras
