Should I get L14 goldie or Papa Lyre tail L90, What do you guys think and any experiences with L90 would appreciated. Are they the same care as any royal?

Just keep the protein away from the Panaque's you with be fine. The goldies can handle the all foods. IMO I have L330s and L27s and L190s and L14s the L14s are a better looking pleco but I like all plecos though! except for bristle noses? don't know why, just not my thing. Best thing to do get them BOTH:naughty:

How often do you do water changes/clean your tank? My understanding is that Panaques poop a lot of sawdust, so that may be a consideration for your choice of fish and filtration.

depends on the type of diet you have for your tanks. If it consists of many different type of food; especially shrimp, prawn, bloodworm, high protein diet, I would get a L14. If you are like me, having plecos only tank, then, feeding just fresh veggie, you can get a L90.

Hooray! Someone else making this point for once. I must have 100 posts on this exact same subject.
+1

Well I would house them with most my other plecos that are carnivorous.. Im leaning towards L14. I clean, vac my bare bottom tank once a week. Now, im wondering if I should get 3 to 4 "medium" goldie or just one 9" to 10" goldie? They would be about the same price for 4 medium vs 1 XL.

The problem with this is:

the panaque doesn't know any better of what to eat and what not. Given the chance, they will eat anything that falls in the tank. Unless you are able to cage it while you are feeding your other fish, there is no way you can keep the protein away from your panaque.
