I originally had four, but unfortunately one was killed by the pair. I had divided the tank because one was hammering the other three. The dynamic changed between the other three basically overnight and I was not vigilant enough to pull the odd fish out in time to save her. Otherwise the fish are doing well and the pair laid eggs last night.

Looking good - always amazes me how quickly a parachromis can end a life when they want to...

Parachromis do seem to be quite good at sorting out stocking dilemmas for their owners. A little pushing and shoving can become relentless attacks in a heartbeat. I had hoped to get a pair and that happened so as long as I can keep the female alive I will be satisfied with the result. Hopefully I can raise some fry and give/trade them to lfs to give others in my area a shot at some fish that they would not have access to otherwise.
