finally started getting some good quality pics of two favorites from my collection. my pair of la ceiba freddies with the male @9" and the female@6" and my beast male hogaboomorum @8.5". both species are incredible fish to own with the freds being such a good pair together with no issues at all and the hoga is a glass banging monster that has turned into a true show fish. have raised all of them from about 2" and couldnt be happier with how they have turned out and excited still to see them grow into true monsters:) thanks for looking

Nice fish! I like the smaller Freddie the best. Love all the yellow.

I was under the impression that they're technically ALL from Rio Danto, it was just that the very first collection point of "La Ceiba" was a small body of water (that the Danto fed in to, perhaps only seasonally) that is now dried up, but it was discovered the fish are also found nearby.

Also from what I've read, Ken Davis first collected them on a trip, and didn't believe they're actually friedrichstalli. I don't know if he does now. I know Mojo suspects they're natural hybrids as well... Quite an interesting story with this fish.

Those la ceiba are absolutely stunning and the Hog is a real brute very nice fish. What kind of substrate ate you using it looks amazing.

I still believe that they are natural hybrids. Managuense and fredrichsthali. We collected them in one particular area of the Rio Danto...but that particular area has many back tributaries...so likely it is elsewhere. The original collection point I believe has since dried up...literally. Great looking fish. I still have an F0 breeding pair...the male is a easily 14"...way to big for a Freddie.
