Hi I was wondering if Labeo chrysophekadion (black shark) are aggressive fish that can kill other fish. I read up online yes they are aggressive but I’ve seen videos of them being kept with smaller fish. I just bought this fish and I put it in a pond with some high fin banded sharks and I’m worried that it will nip at the high fin sharks. However I have another tank that has distichodus and black ghost knife fish and wonder which is better suited for this fish, the pond or the tank.

It's a gamble, which is in our hobby is almost a usual thing but this gamble is on the more loaded side. High fin Chinese sharks sleep at night indeed and stop moving; plus they are a very timid, meek, non-assertive fish, it appears. I'd be very concerned for their well being with a black shark.

On the other hand, the distichodus has the potential to kill the black shark, or vice versa too. It depends on sizes, ages, sexes, size of tank, furniture, etc.

This question is too general to have a more certain answer.
