hi i have a 40 gallon long and wanted an all labidochromis caeruleus but wondering how many i could stock. My pH from tap is 7.8-8.0 and ill be using crushed coral. There will be rock work and a few plants. What would be the best catfish/savanger to put in there besides a plec? Ill be buying from 1.25"-1.5" just incase compatibilaty issue or size... thnx

How many you can keep will definitely depend on the filtration that you have for the tank. Can you give us an idea of what kind of filters you are running?

I'd go with them, or even S. nigriventis (upside down cats) although they aren't rift lake fish

40 gallon about 12 to 20 depending on water changes i would go with more to curve aggresion they are a aggresive fish at times

Nigrita or euptera. Nigriventris are too small and delicate for mbunas.

I'd rather reccommend the synodontis petricola as a tankmate for the labs. Very awesome african catfish which maxes around 3.5 inches. See if you like them.
