Ok so while my 125 gal is a big foggy mess because of pouring the sand in, im waiting till it clears to put my live rock in.... I was thinking of 50 lbs of dead rock 25 lbs of live rock and then this extra little bit of lace rock... maybe 10 lbs.

My question is, is lace rock good enough to become live rock ? I mean it seems very porus. I would attach pics but it doesnt seem to want to let me...

from what ive read, lace rock will take longer to become live rock,
personally I never liked the look of lace rock, id rather got with dead and just
seed it with live.

I dont like the mixed look either. Lace rock isnt nearly as porus as pukani. I wouldnt get it, i would just buy more dry rock imo.

Well I plan on getting a proper amount of rock for the tank. I Was just wondering if it would happen. I will be using it as the base of some structures. OR in the bottom of my rock mountin lol. You wont see it very much.

There are 2 types of lace rock - one is comprised of limestone the other is basalt - the limestone is fine as base rock - basalt is can cause ph and phosphorus problems as it is a more diverse mixture of minerals. Ideally light weight calcified rock is the ticket - limestone is primarily calcified but more dense not really suited for B+B.

SO if it's white it's OK if it's grey stay away.
