I know alot of MFers uses the Laguna Max Flo pump for their sump or wet dry system... now i just got mine today and i know there is a mount for the motor to sit up right.. how do you set your motor up right in a sump situation where the cage isn't needed for the pond setup?? where to buy that mount or how do you do you secure it so it's up right or you just use a 90` right at the motor head?? what you use to damped the motor from vibrating in the sump glass??

What size of pump? There is a mount but its for the 1500 only. You could also get a large chunk of foam like used on a AC110 filter and cut out the center to make a mount and support. It would also dampen it.
if your wanting to connect it with threaded line then here is a link to some adaptors out there.

Here is a link to the 1500 mount.

It wouldnt be very hard to make a mount for it even with silicone or other prodcucts.

I believe there may be some similarities in shape and mount as the ATB flow star pump mounts.

not sure what size and strength your pump is, but i bought some 1k gph pump (not laguna) that has no cage, i bought a 1" non kink hose that goes with it. the hose kind of kept it upright when i cut it to the length i wanted. so because my sump/wet-dry is DIY and really cheap and still tweaking it.... i placed the pot scrubbies in with pump inside a runbbermaid. In the lid i hotknifed a circle witha bump just enough to get the hose and wire through. since my scrubbies are in there as well i needed something to stop the scrubbies from clogging the pumps intake... so i took a 4L plastic water bottle took of the lid placed it sideways, then i hotknifed one side of the bottle out so i could slide the pump in, i hot knifed a hole onto on top for the return valve my intake part of the valve was near the narrowing of the bottle and i placed it against the side of the rubbermaid because it can move i just put a big rock there for now.

Although the cage may not be needed, it's a very nice feature inside the sump, it prevents large debris such as snails, gravel of plant parts from entering the volute and degrading the impeller. If there is enough room in the sump, I leave it on. It is also easy to clean off with a strong spray from a garden hose
I use the 2000 and 2400 units, the pic below is in a 30 gal sump.

Interesting, I just called up laguna n they told me they don't make a mount for the new pumps but they have the previous pump mounts that fit that pump so they sending it to me. I think I'm going to like some say use the hose to hold it up right. To dampen the noise I'm going to buy some thick sponge foam for the AC100 and cut out the pump mold. Use that as a noise n filter like aquaticfan said. Thanks all will take pics as I'm working on the sump to show fellow MFers.
