As some of you may be aware, I graduate college in May, and have been looking for a new job since about Thanksgiving. Well, I DID IT!!! I landed a job working for the gov't! I will be a "contract specialist", working in Patuxent River, MD, at the Naval Air Base located down their (NAVAIR). http://www.navair.navy.mil/
Basically, I will be making and ending contracts with companies to build missals, jets, aircraft carriers, etc. for us (NAVAIR). At least, I think that's what I am going to be doing
Anyway, the best part about the job? It is a three-year paid internship. I start out at 40k a year, and guaranteed to be pulling 60k-70k by the time I graduate. I was talking with a lady who graduated from the program, and she told me that 90% of the graduates are offered (and accept!) another job in the NAVAIR base. Which means, in three years, if I don't like what I am doing, I can pull out. Or, if I love it, I can just continue.
I start on July 20...I am SOOO excited!!!!!
