As some of you know I was sent a one eyed lapredi instead of a teugelsi still waiting for that to come . any this morning I went to the tank where the lap is no sign of it looked on the floor and saw it curled up on the floor near the filter . Gave it a prod it didn't move I thought it was dead I poured some tank water on it and it moved so dropped it in the tank and away it swam these bichirs are real tough cookies . I think I will have to modify the filter outled and drop the water level luckly the floor is tilled and not a carpet lucky the cat didnt get it as well.

Great to hear that you poured water on the lapredi . Most would have assumed it was dead. I had a Senegal escape and put her back in the aquarium. The Senegal started moving and I have her today.
Also agree Polypterus are tough.

yes glad to hear that yours survived I have removed the plastic mesh that was covering the gap and cut a strip of polycarbonate cut 2 slots where the inlet and outlet pipes go so there is no gaps for it to get through I swear it must have climbed out as the mesh covering the gap was more or less still in place.
