Hi guys i need some help with my nigerian lap, its eye got injured, idk how it happen, its been like this for two weeks now, it has red on the sides and its swollen, cloudy lens. Im going to put it in a hospital tank since my water perimiters are off, still fixing my sump to fix my water perimiters. Im going to put the lap in a 20g so i can do WC everyday and the tank will have a sponge filter.

My question is what kind of meds i need to use?
What meds should i start with?
This is my first poly to cure, ive been only doing 3 time a week WC fin level in my 180g and adding salt. At one point it got better swollen went sown and now its back. Need your help so i can buy meds and start treating the poly.

Subscribed..... these weird eye issues can happen. Either from injury or polys low tolerance to water param issues. This thread will help others here to troubleshoot once the experts chime in. I'm terrible with meds. Just salt and love would be my only advice. I know. Not much help here, lol

Are you able to pull it and QT it in its own tank? Treating a 180g of tank gets expensive. Also the other polys may not help with it getting better. Of course clean water a must.
Yes ill be getting a 20g tomorrow, and ill be buying med and the sponge filter tonight. Ive been trying to treat it in the 180g and its hard cause it takes time to do WC.

I have check water perimiter for awhile and the eye seems fine, maybe my endli bite it or got poke from a finlet or my mazanita wood or the SD tried to bite it, im not really sure. We'll all my SD are gone for good.

I'd think from injury, maybe someone bit him during feeding by mistake, not uncommon for polys to do that. I'd agree with Dr. B, clean water, add salt, could up the temp a little.

Sponge filter would be useless as it wouldnt be cycled. Use the airline to create some wster current if you dont have a spare filter but the sponge would be better served sittong in the sump cycling. Did the eye thing start when you noticed the water quality issues ?
