lapradei seem pale

One of my Lapradei´s has been getting pretty white lately... was wondering if anyone would have a clue about the reason?

Have had 2 Lapradei´s for ~3months, the other one has always had great colors but this one was pretty dull before it got so white.

Change your substrates to red or tan. I used to kept my bichirs with pebbles as the substrates and my bichirs were not showing any of their patterns ecpecially my laps. Laps are one of the bichirs that are hard to stabilize their patterns.

Mine is platinum color lol..he's still healthy, eats like a pig and obviously very happy so I let him be..

When it comes to laps, if you really want it to darken their pattern, change the substrates. Ornates will not mind which substrates you put the as they will always be dark. Other bichirs except lap will color up to any substrates except white or any light substrates. As I said before, Laps are one of the bichirs that are hard to stabilize their patterns.

Same lap in red substrates. The patterns is darken in personal. Its just the flash made it look paler.
