Whats the best way to extend my laptop battery when im at home. I havr an ultrabook and the battery is not removable. My laptop has a program where it only charges up to 80% to extend the life. Do i just leave my laptop in fully charge nonstop? Or should i use the battery constantly?

They say you're supposed to let it drain almost all they way, then recharge and then keep doing it that way. It's bd to leave it plugged in all the time to overcharge.

I'd heard that with batteries today, it really doesn't matter. I think that drain-charge routine was for the old nickle-cad batteries, most are lithium-ion these days and don't have a "memory".

The 80% thing is probably just a setting you can change, but I'm not sure how on your system.

Most batteries actually do that, but they show 100% just to keep people from getting upset over having a faulty battery. That's why the first portion of your battery meter always drops so fast then slows down when it gets to the actual charge level.

The thing is i really cant overcharge since i have lifetime extender on and my laptop will only charge up to 80%. Does that me i can leave it plug in nonstop? Or should i still cycle?
